Felodipine (Plendil)
Indications:
This medication is used in the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension, alone or with other hypertensives.
How to take:
Felodipine is taken once a day without food since food may reduce the absorption of the medication. Do not take this medication with grapefruit juice because it may lead to sudden drop in blood pressure. It is recommended to take tablet as whole not to be chewed or crushed. For more detailed information please see label and please consult specialist. Do not take more Felodipine than it is indicated at the label without consulting your doctor.
Precautions:
This medication is used with caution in patients with chronic heart failure or compromised ventricular function, especially in combination with a beta adrenergic blocking agent. It may also cause a greater hypotensive effect in geriatric clients. The safety and efficacy of this drug have not been determined in children.
